The Classic New York Cheesecake

Originating in the vibrant city of New York, this creamy and decadent dessert has become a classic favorite around the world. The New York Cheesecake is known for its rich and dense texture, made with cream cheese, sugar, and eggs on a graham cracker crust. It's the ultimate indulgence for cheesecake lovers!

Ingredients:

  • 450g cream cheese, softened
  • 200g sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 200g sour cream
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 150g graham cracker crumbs
  • 75g unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Mix graham cracker crumbs and melted butter, then press into the bottom of the pan to form the crust.
  3. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla, sour cream, and salt.
  4. Pour the batter over the crust and smooth the top. Bake for about 1 hour until the center is almost set.
  5. Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool inside for 2 hours. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
