The Delightful Nepalese Momos

Originating from the beautiful country of Nepal, momos are traditional Nepalese dumplings that are widely loved for their flavorful fillings and comforting taste. These delectable dumplings are often enjoyed as a snack or appetizer, and they hold a special place in Nepalese cuisine.

Ingredients:

  • 300g minced pork
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup cabbage, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 50-60 store-bought dumpling wrappers

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the minced pork, onion, garlic, ginger, cabbage, soy sauce, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Place a spoonful of the pork mixture in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges with water and seal the dumpling, pleating the edges as desired.
  3. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  4. Steam the momos in a steamer for about 10-12 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Serve hot with a dipping sauce of your choice.
