Oman Lobster Masala

Originating from the beautiful coastal country of Oman, this Lobster Masala is a true delight for seafood lovers. The rich blend of spices combined with the freshness of lobster creates a dish that is both exotic and comforting.

In Oman, seafood plays a significant role in their cuisine due to the country's extensive coastline. Lobster is a prized ingredient, often prepared with traditional spices to enhance its natural flavors.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg lobster tails, cleaned and deveined
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
  2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook until aromatic.
  3. Stir in the turmeric, cumin, coriander, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for a minute.
  4. Pour in the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
  5. Add the lobster tails and coat them in the masala.
  6. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes until the lobster is cooked through.
  7. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  8. Serve hot with steamed rice or naan.
