Mandi Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 500g lamb, cut into pieces
  • 2 cups basmati rice

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Salt, to taste
  • 4 cups water

  1. Marinate the lamb pieces with garlic, cumin, coriander, black pepper, turmeric, cinnamon, and salt. Let it sit for at least 1 hour.
  2. In a large pot, heat some oil and sauté the onions until golden brown.
  3. Add the marinated lamb and cook until browned on all sides.
  4. Once the meat is browned, add water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until the meat is tender.
  5. Remove the meat from the broth and set aside.
  6. Wash the rice and add it to the broth. Cook until the rice is tender and all liquid is absorbed.
