Japanese Miso Soup

Welcome to my kitchen, fellow foodies! Today, I want to share with you a classic Japanese comfort dish - Miso Soup. Originating from Japan, this light and flavorful soup is a staple in Japanese cuisine and is enjoyed as a warming starter or a light meal. Made with a savory miso paste, tofu, seaweed, and green onions, this soup is not only delicious but also easy to make at home.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups dashi stock
  • 3 tbsp miso paste
  • 100g silken tofu, cubed
  • 2-3 tbsp dried wakame seaweed
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced

Instructions:

  1. In a pot, bring the dashi stock to a simmer.
  2. Place the miso paste in a small bowl and add a ladle of the warm stock. Mix well to dissolve the miso paste.
  3. Add the miso mixture back into the pot and stir to combine.
  4. Add the tofu and wakame seaweed to the pot and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and add the green onions.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy this comforting Japanese Miso Soup!
