Hey everyone, it's Gemma here! Today I am excited to share with you a recipe for a traditional Qatari dish called Samak Mashwi.

Samak Mashwi is a delicious grilled fish dish that is popular in Qatar. The fish is marinated in a flavorful blend of spices and then grilled to perfection. It's a simple yet flavorful dish that is perfect for a family gathering or a weekend meal.

Enjoy this taste of Qatar with my recipe for Samak Mashwi!

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole fish (like seabass or pomfret), cleaned and scaled
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Score the fish by making diagonal cuts along its body on both sides.
  4. Rub the spice mixture all over the fish, making sure to get it into the cuts.
  5. Grill the fish for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and charred.
  6. Serve hot with lemon wedges and enjoy!

I hope you enjoy making and sharing this authentic Qatari dish with your loved ones. It's a true taste of the Middle East that will transport you with every bite!
